Course overview:

One of the greatest challenges of our current society is the care and conservation of the environment. And what better way to begin this commitment than by getting to know nature firsthand and enjoying its possibilities through outdoor activities that promote respect and protection?

This Erasmus+ course offers a unique experience in natural settings, combining adventure, learning, and ecological awareness. Throughout the program, activities such as trekking, paddle surfing, orienteering, caving, canyoning, and alternative games (activities may vary depending on the destination) will be carried out, with the goal of discovering the educational opportunities of the natural environment and promoting a sustainable relationship with it.

In addition, the course directly addresses some of the fundamental pillars of the Erasmus+ program: on one hand, the commitment to sustainability and the environment, and on the other, the inclusion and active participation of students. The proposed activities foster integration, cooperation, and respect among participants, creating an ideal environment to establish bonds and strengthen the Erasmus network among educational centers.

An experiential, inclusive, and transformative training, where nature becomes the perfect classroom to learn, connect, and act.

Learning outcomes:

  • Foster environmental awareness through direct contact with nature, promoting attitudes of respect, conservation, and sustainability in natural environments.
    • Explore the natural environment through outdoor activities such as trekking, paddle surfing, orienteering, or caving, discovering its educational, social, and ecological potential.
    • Develop personal and social skills such as teamwork, decision-making, resilience, and communication through active experiences in natural settings.
    • Promote inclusion and the active participation of students, creating an environment where everyone feels valued, integrated, and capable of contributing to the group.
    • Encourage non-formal and experiential learning methodologies, based on direct experience and collaborative outdoor learning.
    • Raise awareness about sustainable practices in daily and educational life, incorporating principles of low environmental impact throughout all activities.
    • Strengthen the Erasmus network among European educational centers, creating real opportunities for collaboration, sharing best practices, and developing future joint projects focused on environmental education and inclusion.

Methodology:

The course methodology will be based on experiential learning and the non-formal education approach, with a strong practical and participatory component. Therefore, active methodologies will play a key role. Activities will take place mainly in natural environments, allowing participants to learn through action.

Throughout the course, the following methodological strategies will be applied:

  1. Active and experiential learning: Participants will take an active role in their own learning through the proposed activities.
  2. Group dynamics and alternative games: Playful and collaborative activities will be used to promote group cohesion, the development of social skills, and the inclusion of all participants.
  3. Exchange of best practices: Spaces for dialogue will be created among participants to share educational experiences, ideas, and approaches related to sustainability, inclusion, and European cooperation.
  4. Collaborative and intercultural approach: The course will foster the creation of bonds between European educational centers, generating opportunities for future Erasmus+ collaborations through joint work that is respectful and enriched by cultural diversity.
