Course overview:

In today’s fast-paced world, where sedentary and unhealthy habits are becoming the norm, educators play a crucial role in shaping students’ well-being.

This project introduces an innovative, science-backed approach to integrating nutrition and physical activity into education, focusing on how these elements influence cognitive performance, emotional resilience, and long-term health.

By addressing key factors like cortisol regulation, neuroplasticity, and active learning, this dynamic five-day training will empower educators with the knowledge they need to foster healthier, more engaged classrooms. And through hands-on activities, interactive workshops, outdoor experiences, and collaborative exercises, participants will transform this knowledge into action, empowering themselves to integrate healthy habits into their daily teaching practice and personal lives.

Attending to this project, teachers will be better equipped to guide their students towards a healthier lifestyle. Furthermore, the project will foster cooperation in education, reinforcing the mission of lifelong learning and social inclusion.

Learning outcomes:

  • To raise awareness of the importance of nutrition and physical activity in cognitive and emotional development.
  • To provide educators with practical strategies to integrate healthy lifestyle habits into the classroom.
  • To encourage a holistic approach to well-being, linking healthy eating, movement, and stress management.
  • To foster collaboration among teachers in promoting health-oriented educational environments.
  • To reinforce health and well-being principles through real-world applications in nature and outdoor environments.
  • To empower educators as role models for healthier lifestyles within their school communities.
  • To create a sustainable framework for long-term health promotion in education.

Methodology:

This project employs a participatory and experiential learning approach, combining theoretical concepts with hands-on practice. The methodology includes:

  • Interactive workshops that provide foundational knowledge on nutrition, exercise, and well-being.
  • Practical activities that reinforce learning through direct experience.
  • Collaborative discussions to share insights and best practices.
  • Outdoor and movement-based sessions to emphasize the role of physical activity.
  • Reflection moments to foster personal and professional growth.
  • Snack preparation sessions to translate nutritional knowledge into practical skills.
  • A final action plan development to ensure long-term application in schools.

Every one of these tools together ensure that participants will acquire not only an increased awareness and knowledge about the role of nutrition and exercise in education, but also, they will receive practical tools and strategies for integrating healthy habits into teaching practices.
